Helambu Trek covers a wide range of green valleys, hazy rhododendron forests, and distant horizons of snowy peaks and a vivid contrast between Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu cultures. The Helambu trek is the ideal short trek, and this Helambu region is still relatively less touristic.
During the trek, you will experience the Yolmo culture of high high mountains villages, marvel at vistas of lonely high mountains and watch enthralled as the farmers working in the fields using handmade tools.
The Helambu trek, known for its scenic greatness and pleasant climate, lies in the north of the Kathmandu Valley. You can stay in highland monastery villages and small settlements in the perfect forest during this trek.
The most accessible of all trekking regions, Helambu offers a low elevation, a pleasant walk. The villages of Tamang and Yolmo, people with strong family and cultural ties, meet friendly and hospitable.
The Helambu trek is an easy and enjoyable journey that takes place at an average altitude of 3,600m. The trek will take you to Tarkegyang through Tharepati, where a selection of trails opens. And we hike along the south ridge to Sermathang. Helambu offers an instant trek to those with limited time.
But if your time permits and willing to do long trekking (about 2 weeks) then you can combine this trek with the Langtang Gosaikunda trek.
You will arrive at Kathmandu where we will pick you up from the Airport and drop you to your hotel. Meanwhile, you can take your time to stroll around to visit the temples and monuments.
There are plenty of places that you will find fascinating if you wander around.
Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal takes about an hour and trek from Sundarijal the trail will join through the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve.
The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with the inhabitants of Tamang. The route leads down the ridge through the oak and rhododendron forest to Chisopani. Overnight at lodge.
After breakfast, we head for a trek to Kutumsang. Our trek today begins with a decent crossing meadows and fields. Enjoy the wonderful view of the Langtang Mountains. So, we reach at Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang. From Gul Bhanjyang, the trail goes up the ridge to another pass. Another downhill trek from the pass will take us to Kutumsang.Overnight at lodge.
We walk above Kutumsang along a steep path mainly throughrhododendron and fir forests, where there are no permanent villages. The trek continues to YurinDanda with a magnificent view of the Himalayas. We’re finally reach at Tharepati.Overnight at lodge.
Today trek starts with some descend to Melamchigaon, the trail gently climbs up to Tarkegyang. First part of the trek, the trail descends until we cross the Melamchi river. Then we trek up to Tarkeghyang passing through Yolmo settlements. Enjoy the Himalayan Mountains ofter appear before you glistening in the sunshine.
DiscoverTarkeghyangand its monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the region. The village is more popularly known as Helambu, since the most of the inhabitants belong to the Yolmo caste. Overnight at lodge.
Todaymostly flat, easy to walk through a wide valley, passing through forests and streams.Sermathang is a lovely village with great views, valley and Buddhist monastery.Overnight at lodge.
The descent by bus takes about 6 hours and passes the huge Shiva Monument in the Kathmandu Valley. You’ll have the chance to eat lunch along the way, and with the stunning Mountain views, we will get to interact with local and friendly people.
In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with culture show.
Time to say goodbye to Nepal. Enjoy your last moments in Kathmandu with breakfast in a café, a city walksor souvenir shopping.
You can either stay back in Kathmandu today and enjoy a free day or leave for your respective countries.
Our representative will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the Airport for your return flight home.
