Have you ever dreamt of climbing the majestic Himalayas? If so, then the Himlung Himal Expedition should be on your climbing list. With its breathtaking views, challenging terrain, rich cultural sites, this “Himlung Himal” expedition promises to be an unforgettable journey of a lifetime.
As the peak is situated in the restricted area of Nar Phu valley, the trek to the base camp itself is a magnificent experience. As the valley is between the Manaslu and Annapurna region, it is a true gem which allows trekkers to experience both raw Himalayan nature and ancient Buddhist culture.
Himlung Himal is a less technical seven thousand-meter peak that is perfect for a beginner mountaineer who wants to climb an eight-thousand-meter peak such as Mount Everest. And it has reputation for having the highest summit success rate (according to the Himalayan Database).
However, Himlung Himal shouldn’t be taken lightly because most of the ascent covers at elevations above 6500m, requiring a great level of physical condition. For climbing, we use the southern route and then turn northeast to reach the summit. We set our base camp, also known as the ‘Kari Kobler base camp‘, at an elevation of 4900 meters, as well as two higher camps, to ensure a successful ascent.
Our highly experienced climbing native Sherpa guides and kitchen team will organize and lead the expedition.
On reaching the summit, one can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Dhaulagiri Range, Annapurna Range, Manaslu, and other peaks. The Himlung expedition is a fortunate mountain for the Magical Summits with a 100% success record.
The journey takes place in the Manaslu district and the Nar Phu Valley, which are relatively remote. Although many trekkers travel through Manaslu as part of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, there are fewer who trek through the locations and villages you pass through on the Himlung Himal expedition.
It also means that the teahouses in this area are far more basic than those along the main Annapurna Circuit trekking routes.
The sleeping rooms come with two beds (or a dormitory). Sleeping rooms do not have heating or attached bathrooms. Toilet facilities will be shared with other hikers and climbers and may be located outside of the main building. Hot showers are available but you need to pay for them.
The dining area is the center of the teahouses, where you can both eat and socialize. There will be some sort of heating system there.
Some guesthouses can offer WiFi and charging facilities. Please note you will be expected to pay to use these services.
As you are going to be camping for quite awhile on this expedition, we do feel you will be able to manage the basic facilities of a trekking lodges for a few nights!
